This week is NZ Road Safety Awareness Week. The picture I chose is a 1964 stamp promoting the idea of safety on our roads. However, the idea doesn't seem to resonate with present day Kiwis. 50 years on and road safety related death toll keeps on rising. What's going on? I guess the government isn't remiss in reminding people about the need for road safety. I still am horrified to hear of people who figure in road accidents and not wearing seat belts. For me, putting on a seat belt should be automatic, like looking at the mirror to see if you're pretty or handsome. You do that everyday and every time right? Why not carry on and do that too with your seat belt? Please don't be a pain, by joining the statistics of road safety deaths. You're capable of doing better!
